Tomislav Merčep, heroj Domovinskog rata osuđen je u političko montiranom procesu na 7 godina zatvora zbog navodno počinjenih ratnih zločina od strane pripadnika postrojbe MUP-a kojom je zapovjedao, a iste kao zapovjednik nije spriječio. Isti je ozbiljno narušenog zdravstvenog stanja. Zločini mu nisi dokazani, ali je ipak osuđen po zapovjednoj odgovornosti.
